I have been living at the Residence Inn while looking to buy a home in Westchester. I came here in August 2023 & for the sake of convenience, I am still here as of December 2024.||||I would not recommend a long term stay here. I have stayed because they take pets & I do not want to upset my pet by moving before we are ready to move to our permanent new home.||||There was no on-site manager when I came here and two managers have come and gone during my stay and there is currently no manager. It is not hard to find a manager if they are willing to pay a salary that is commensurate with the station. ||||Although a swimming pool was advertised, when I came here (August 2023) it was closed & the reason given was that they could not find a lifeguard. REALLY? It stayed closed until the summer of 2024 & when it did open, it is only during the hours of 5pm until 11pm. I would go for a morning swim each day if they were open.||||The desk staff is, for the most part, friendly and helpful if one stays right in front of them. On numerous occasions, I have personally requested something minor & was promised it by the desk clerk but it never materialized after I went to my unit.||||If I receive mail or a package, the desk staff does NOT advise me and they have plenty of time to do so.||||I have reached the top category as a Bonvoy member but have not been offered an upgrade or a discount on my current unit.||||They offer breakfast which is nothing to write home about. I never take part in the "free breakfast" but still do not receive a break on the rate.||||The desk staff is not trained well or supervised. They do the best they can with very little knowledge of how the hotel really operates. But for a hotel operating under the name of Marriott, one would expect much better service.||||They automatically lock me out of my room at the end of each month and the cleaning ladies ask what time I will be checking out even though I have advised them repeatedly that I will notify them, in advance, when I am ready to check out.||||The biggest nuisance is the fact that the ear piercing fire alarm goes off every other week and sometimes twice a week. Ear piercing in one's room complete with flashing lights! So far, there has not been a fire but the alarm doesn't stop until the fire department comes, checks it out and physically turns it off. Tonight's alarm went on for just shy of ONE HOUR! Needless to say, this traumatizes my pet every time and I have bought ear plugs, now, and have to keep them handy.||||Most recently, there was a total black out that began around 9pm and lasted until around 6am the next day. No electricity = no heat, no tv or use of anything requiring electricity & no way of cooking, in addition to being in the dark. Was there an apology? NO.||||Lousy internet!||||TV constantly interrupts programming & goes to Bonvoy channel. More sports channels than anything else - a perk if one is into sports.||||The comfort of guests is definitely not a priority. The staff is not well informed. ||||The priority seems to be to stay full all the time and in order to do that, they take in many guests who are on public assistance and have more people in a room than the health department or fire department allows.||||Also people who are having parties and intend to go all night tend to rent a 1 bedroom apartment near the fire exit at the end of the hall. On many occasions, I have been kept awake the ENTIRE night by people who refuse to lower the music, have their drunken guests spill out into the hallway and constantly use the fire door to smoke cigarettes and weed in the stairwell.||||Of course I have complained but the security guard they sent seemed to be afraid of the revelers and I have, now, begun to bypass repeated complaints to the desk clerk and just call the police myself.||||Guests tend to smoke weed in the cigarette smoking area outside and no one says anything. Although, I am not offended by this, many guests are.||||I could go on but I still have a headache from tonight's fire alarm. ||||Suffice it to say, this is NOT a five, four or even a three star hotel. I am giving it 2 stars solely due to the efforts & friendliness of the cleaning & engineer staff. Also, they have a large parking lot.||||Although this hotel offers studio and 1 bedroom apartments, it is still not a good value for the money they charge.

Good hotel, a short drive from NYC. Large studios with decent equipped kitchen. Would have given 5 stars but...
1. Breakfast - ran out of items on occasion (even early in the morning) - one time was no oat milk or any other non-dairy option; another time the pancake machine wasn't working. The toaster needs replacing - it only toasts on one side resulting in this bizarre hard/soft toasted bread/bagels.
2. Gym - a little small and limited equipment.

I travel frequently for work, and this was my second stay at this hotel within two weeks. My first experience was positive overall, though there was a long line at check-in. The friendly staff made up for it, though, so I didn’t mind too much. This recent stay, however, was a different story.

When I arrived around 3:45 pm, the front desk informed all guests that their systems were down, preventing any check-ins. I waited in the lobby until about 4:30 pm, which wasn’t unreasonable. After finally getting to my room, I worked until a little after 8 pm, left to grab some food, and returned.

As I was preparing for bed, I decided to check the linens—only to find a bed bug. I immediately took pictures and went straight to the front desk. Jacquelyn (sp?) was very apologetic and offered me a room at the Courtyard across the street, which I accepted since I had to be up early for work at 5:30 am. The Courtyard check-in went smoothly, and the room there was clean and comfortable.

The following morning, I checked out early and reached out to the Residence Inn to discuss my experience. Jose, the housekeeping manager, mentioned that the hotel manager, Ryan, would be in touch. After missing his initial call, I followed up that this afternoon. However, after holding for 10 minutes, Ryan’s response was simply that the insurance company would reach out after reviewing my claim. I expected a more empathetic response, especially from a reputable brand like Marriott, but his lack of concern left me disappointed.

The Residence Inn was perfect and meet our needs. It has a fully stocked kitchen: plates, glasses, cups, pots and pan, flatware. There is a regular size fridge, stove, microwave oven and coffee machine (decaf and regular coffee, and tea are provided. Housekeeping does a good job. Jackie who checked us in remembered me from my last visit, she made sure our stay was good. Kudos to management!

Supervisors, please read my review!
I have a great experience here. It’s been a month and everything has been going great! Joanna and Kenneth at the front desk are awesome people. Joanna delivers great customer service, this young woman will have a bright future with this type of personality. Also, Kenneth is a respectful man and always makes sure that things go right. I hope their supervisors check this review because those two deserve a raise or some sort of rewards for being good employees, especially Joanna!

**EDITING MY REVIEW TO GIVE THE WELL DESERVED SHOUT OUT TO the front DESK! JOANA< JESSICA< CHRIS< ANTHONY!! Not sure if they're even still working there but THANK YOU for your hard work during our stay. You guys all really went above and beyond to make sure we had a better stay**
Can I review the guests? Because let me tell you, they are the biggest problem. Rude, greedy, inconsiderate guests! Omg what a hot mess at that breakfast buffet. How can you run out of milk! LoL. The kitchen staff needs to get off their phones and fill up that coffee bar.
After 2 days, we just went out to eat.

My room was awesome! We had a 1Br, full kitchen, king-size bed. It was super comfy and beyond perfect for our needs.

Parking sucked at night, though.
If you get back late, be ready to walk across from the back of the lot. Great location, right off the highway. The pool was not available in the building, and we were supposed to go across to the Courtyard. I was NOT going to do that.

But on to the front desk staff!

☆☆THEY'RE ALL WONDERFUL.!! ☆☆
I'll go get their names another time, but one was Jessica. There were 2 others that were spot on. They tried so hard to keep the guests happy. For being so young, they have great CS skills developing. Thank you for treating us so well and always being friendly and professional in lieu of the chaos at times.
MARRIOTT give them a raise! They deserve it!

BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK

Prepaid for a four night stay in a two bedroom suite. When we arrived, hotel staff informed our room wasn’t available and got downgraded. After multiple requests and promises from staff they’d “make it right” no refund was offered, no calls from managers. Was informed by the front desk “corporate often overbooks us”.

Company is completely OK stealing from their guests. It’s a shame, we liked the hotel and otherwise it was a nice stay, but the theft was unimaginably NOT okay.

We stayed here for 3 nights and overall we had a very pleasant stay ! Staffs are well-trained and extremely helpful (as well as responsive) to requests. Our room is spacious with a compact kitchen utility. Some minor for us would be there is only cold water for swimming pool and breakfast service might need more hands. In summary, we would really love to stay again if we plan future trip to nyc !
