Decided to treat ourselves by making a reservation here and were blown away by the food. Perfect portions that leave just enough room for dessert! The wagyu gyoza was absolutely mouthwatering and a group favorite that night. Everything was delicious and we would definitely come again!

I want to start by saying that the staff there were all very professional and our waiter was extremely helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and their sushi and sashimi were super fresh, which is a major factor for good quality seafood. There is no complaint about it.

However, even for a big city like LA, the price for what you get is still crazy. $55 for Sushi Moriawase and the same price for Sashimi Moriawase? Please see my pictures and you be the judge. What’s even more outrageous was the fried rice with Wagyu Beef and it was $56! Yes, on the menu it clearly indicated that with Wagyu Beef +34. That means the fried rice itself is $22. Again, please see my picture and you’d understand my puzzlement.

I totally agree that the food is fresh and outstanding. But for this price? No, we won’t be back.

Katsuya is a fantastic fine dinning sushi restaurant. There are several in Los Angeles, this one is our favorite. It is usually not too crowded, but they do take reservations if you want. I would do that for a weekend night.

It is large and spotless. It is also beautiful. The service is uncompared and they know the menu so well, they can give you ideas and help you. There is a sushi bar if you want to sit there and the chefs are wonderful.

The whole atmosphere is welcoming and calm. You will be greeted the moment you get there. The servers check on you and you can order all at once or just keep ordering. There is not a bad dish there. We have been enough to know the menu well. They are kid friendly, my grandson loves this place. Be careful letting them order, you will be broke when they are done.

They have the best sushi, all fresh and wonderful and they will make it any way you want. They also have the best lobster tempura in town. The side dishes are all great and we love all the rice dishes. Try their BBQ pork over rice. It is so great.

You will love this place.

Yes, it is very expensive! However, the quality of the food is like no other. My husband and I couldn’t believe how delicious everything we ordered was, including the cocktails. Service was great as well. We sat outside on the comfy couches and had a nice view of LA live while eating.

I’ll start by saying location and service was great . The 3 stars comes from the food unfortunately. It didn’t taste bad…just that we have had better. Much better. We ordered the sashimi chef selection and the sushi chef selection. Edemame was bland. Of all the sushi we had on our plates there was only one roll I thought was super good. The rest were ok. Not sure if it had anything to do with it being closing time.

I had a really great time at katsuya. I went there with a couple friends and we had some amazing drinks and amazing sushi. Super friendly. Very warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is very nice. It was a little expensive overall but it was good quality sushi. I would recommend checking it out if you want some great sushi downtown and I would love to come back.

Most food was delicious, as well as the Sake.
The fried rice was a little disappointing.
The rolls were great and we even see celebrities at the place.
The check came with an “Service charge for the industry” like a price adjustment, that was weird, but we asked to take it away and they did.
I would say service was good but not great
Anyways overall great experience, but considering the price, I decided to give them only 4 ⭐️ for these little things
