They were once one of the best. Now I would never recommend them to anyone. If anything, the purchase of the company was done to milk every last drop out of what's left before driving it into bankruptcy.
That said, if you ever see someone with Bluehost on their resume before 2017, you should hire them. They were the ones that built the company's stellar reputation before this disgraceful fall.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here! After many frustrating hours on the phone trying to get our SSL certificate renewed, someone in sales (support was no help) suggested that we upgrade our plan so that the SSL would auto-renew. Bluehost then charged us the same amount twice for one upgrade. When I requested that one of the charges be removed, Bluehost said “sure” and then canceled our plan altogether. As a result, our company’s email and website were shut down for several days. I will never know how much business we lost because of Bluehost. But I do know that I lost a significant amount of time, money and sleep. Canceling our account and getting a refund also was an epically miserable process. After an interminable time in chat hell, we finally received the correct refund. Our difficulties, I believe, stem from the fact that few people there seem to speak or understand English particularly well. Thankfully, we have transitioned to another web hosting service.

I purchased webshosting services on the 3rd of June. Your system obviously had a glitch I got no proof of purchase or email verification link sent to my inbox. Customer service agent Pavan made it look like it's my fault telling me I gave an incorrect email address. It's been 24 days, sitting without access to services I purchased. You are more than unprofessional. Why does it take Tammy from your Escalations team a week to respond to emails?

If I could give them "0" stars I would. This is the worse customer service I have ever received. You will only ever get someone in a foreign country. My guess is India but I am not sure. I've spent now 8 hours talking with them over the past 9 days trying to get my domain back. I've paid a $100 fee the first day with the promise of 3 days. Every time I call I have to start from scratch proving payment and they give me excuses, say I haven't paid and my favorite make empty promises that it will be restored in 24-48 hours. They do not keep record of past conversations. There is no way to speak to someone in America. Do not use them!!!!!!!

It has come to my attention that Bluehost, after having terminated my services, initially indicated that I would receive a full reimbursement. It should be noted that I had transitioned to a different service provider and have not utilized Bluehost for a period exceeding six months. Upon the realization that the aforementioned refund was not deposited into my account, I found it imperative to establish communication with them once more. Regrettably, I was subsequently informed that a refund would not be forthcoming due to my reaching out subsequent to the automatic renewal date. I would advise exercising caution when engaging with this particular company and emphasize the importance of obtaining all commitments in a written format. Fortunately, I am in possession of electronic correspondence confirming my intent not to renew, and I am currently in the process of contesting the matter with my credit card institution.

I strongly recommend you avoid this firm. I subscribed because they touted offering 7 - 24 phone tech support. Prior to contracting with them for hosting I advised our website was in WordPress and they said they work with that. Once I purchased their services I was then told they do not offer free 7 - 24 support for WordPress, that I must purchase their Bluesky service. I did this for 2 months I think it was an extra $90.00 per month but I am going by memory. I was also sold their SEO support which was not cheap, every time I spoke with their tech support rep. I was advised of tasks I MUST DO. My idea of purchasing SEO support is to have their experts perform for improvements on my website. They did nothing in improving my website. Save your money, go elsewhere and be careful, there are too many firms out there that only want to take your money and provide nothing but double talk.

The worst! These people run all kinds of shady Scams and all from their delightful foreign staff! They will lock customers out of their accounts, after payment is made, and play ball on someone’s expense!!! From the moment we opened account we had issues?

We were also off our account for about a month to which Bluehost took it upon themselves to put our business online start promoting for their own gain! There were also able to put their own contact information on our dame website till we caught them!!!

Eventually we logged in a week later to which we found our account completely deleted and them stealing the entire files to our website! You are warned!

I have been a client with Bluehost for years! 15 years to be more precise. In the last few years, service quality kept dropping. Slow. Very slow. And I was not on a shared server. My delivery time was horrible. 11 seconds for a home page. Customer service kept telling me it's because of how the site was built. The funny thing is that I work in the high-tech industry as a UX/UI architect. Nothing was wrong with the site. So I moved it to Siteground. My loading time is 1.3 seconds or less. Same exact code!

And much cheaper than what I was paying to bluehost.
